I have a minute to give you all an update on this years garden. With any luck we will be selling at the farmers market soon. Jason has taken Violet to the store to get some tripas for dinner tonight. I thought fried cow intestines was gross until Denise shoved some down my throat. I am so addicted.
I had a CALA meeting last Thursday, and got some very good information about Asexual Propagation and seedlings. Asexual Propagation is just a smart ass way of saying growing plants from seeds. That is exactly what I have been doing. I had my little dixi cups full of dark soil and made little holes for my seeds. I was so excited when I got my first little sprouts of the season. But only some of them came up. Turns out I had been frying the crap-o-la out of em, with the wrong soil. Apparently to much fertilizer burns em up. So the transplanting begins. So far they are doing better, and most of them have got at least two or three leaves.
Every thing is turning green out side. New grass is sprouting, and flowers are budding, bee's preparing their attack plans on me, and the turtles are tanning in the sun. We have not planted in the garden yet, but you would never know as last years yield is still showing its leaves. The stringy beanies that didn't make it into the kids mouths have all taken root in the sand. Even four skinny asparagus stalks are sticking straight up towards the sky.
I will have to replant my strawberries. That evil Jack Frost decided to make one last visit, and took my strawberries with him. Jerk! So that's it for now, enjoy the pictures of our little oasis in the desert.
